I was born and raised in Marion, Virginia. After one year at Sugar Grove, I transferred to the Marion School system beginning with Marion Primary, through my first semester of ninth grade year. I moved to Saltville December 1982 and attended Patrick Henry High School. I began working for the Town of Saltville October 1991 and was hired full time July 1996. I was assigned to do part time secretary work in the Police Department in 1992. In 1996 when the Department started filing I.B.R. (Incident Based Reporting) by computer I completed my CRIS Records Management System Training in Richmond. 2003 the Department installed a NCIC/VCIN computer and I received my certification to operate it. When the Department uses it’s Field Office on site at the many events/festivals I man and answer the phone / radio and I help citizens and visitors with any concerns / questions they may have as well as transport elderly, handicap, etc. on the Department golf cart to where ever they should need to go. I assist with the Department grants and keep monthly crime stats as well as Officer Activity Reports. I also assist the Public Works Department, Water Department and Sewer Department with their letters, reports and forms they use.
